This Portales New Mexico horseback riding barn is equipped to handle children as young as five or six years old for
lessons and even younger for a ride. We have people show up who have wanted to ride all their lives but just never
got to it. Our oldest has been 80 and we have seen all ages between the two. Easy access from Clovis and Cannon
AFB New Mexico and other outlying communities.
SPECIAL FOR MINORS - Parents are expected to stay for the lesson and are strongly encouraged to be a part. The
adult helps coach and will learn valuable information should the family decide to become horse owners,
WHO RIDES? Adults - Men, women. Children - boys and girls. Families and friends come together.
FACILITIES We are an outdoor facility open all year round.
TIME SPENT From time of arrival to time you leave is approximately 1 1/2 hours.
HOURS OF OPERATION This is a full time business so we are able to work with individual schedules that include
work and school.
LESSONS on our horses. People ride weekly or more often.
ONE TIME We offer one time rides to those who would like to experience being on a horse and riding. The horse is
ready and waiting for you.
PRICES You will need to call.
FEARFUL RIDERS Some times we have a bad or uncomfortable experience with a horse and it leaves us fearful of
being in their space or ever getting on again. We have past success in helping people understand the origin of their
fears and overcome them so they can enjoy horses.
HORSE OWNERS
We can help you educate your horse so your relationship can operate on communication and trust. You can bring
your horse and take lessons together or you can use one of our horses and we will work on you so you can then
work on your horse. Or, sometimes you can use ours and other times bring yours.
We can help you prepare for competition.
NEW HORSE OWNER? We can help you understand what motivates the horse. When you understand where the
horse is coming from, you can make sure your behavior when in their space encourages them to be the very 'best
horse'. If you are not setting the proper standard for behavior the horse will take advantage and can become
disrespectful and sometimes threatening.
RELEASE FORMS to sign ahead if you are coming for a one-time ride and bringing a minor without their parent.
TAILORED PROGRAMS
Field Trips - We will provide a custom tailored field trip for groups.
Birthday Celebrations - We can serve a small party for rides.

needed something to do so I put balls
in for him. He played with them during
the day and - believe it or not - he put
them in a certain place each night. I
didn't teach him to put them up, he just
did it. If he had two of the big balls both
would be stashed under the feeder in
the inside pen. They appeared just
before dark and he would get them out
the next day.
